Retail Shop Assistants

Stock Administrator (full time or part time, permanent or temporary)
  • Based in Eastleigh, Hampshire
  • Up to £20,800 per year (FTE), depending on experience
  • Full time or part time. Additional hours will be required from time to time.

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our busy stock control team as a Stock Administrator with immediate start.

Skoolkit is a well-respected and growing family run business. We are a leading independent supplier of school wear, with stores in Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Fareham, Havant, Totton and Newbury, and a central distribution warehouse in Eastleigh. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for two people who have good experience in stock control and forecasting software with the ability to analyse stock and determine re-order levels to ensure maximum product availability.

Start your career with Skoolkit! Even if you have not previously worked with stock or in admin, this is an excellent learning opportunity and will enable you to gain valuable work experience. You would learn about stock control and how to forecast to ensure our shops and web team always have the right amount of stock available for customers.

Depending on your experience and how quickly you learn, as a Stock Administrator, you would use Excel or our forecasting software to maintain accurate stock information, identify potential stock outages, and prepare reports and forecasts. You would also speak with our shops and the web team to help them with stock queries and raising or advancing orders as required.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with numbers, be eager to learn to use a stock control system and will be able to use Excel and other IT effectively. If you have previous experience of using a stock control system and understand stock control concepts, that would be fantastic however not necessary. You will need to enjoy solving problems, be organised and able to work with a team effectively. You will also therefore need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Embroidery Production Assistant (part-time or full-time)
  • Based at Skoolkit Head Office in Eastleigh, Hampshire

Due to our continued growth, we have several positions and excellent opportunities for Embroidery Production Assistants to join our busy in-house embroidery and print team.

As an Embroidery Production Assistant, your main focus would be to assist the embroidery and print team with completing retail and wholesale orders for primarily school wear. You would learn the whole embroidery and print process which includes preparing the garment for embroidery or print, learning how to use the embroidery and printing machines and packaging the finished garments for the customer. You would also be responsible for ensuring the clothes are to a high standard and keeping the embroidery department clean and tidy. The role involves using machines and equipment on workstations at varying heights and carrying boxes of stock to and from the warehouse.

You don't need to have previous experience in embroidery or printing, you just need to be:
  • willing to learn and develop new skills,
  • hard-working and energetic,
  • a fantastic communicator,
  • great at attention to detail, and
  • eligible to work in the UK.

E-commerce Trading Manager and E-commerce Trading Supervisor (both positions full-time, permanent)
Both roles are full-time 40 hours (part time supervisors will be considered) and are five days a week, including weekend work and evenings in the Summer. Additional hours will be required from time to time as necessary.

As our online market position grows, we need to meet increasing customer demand, and are looking for customer focused leaders to drive service excellence across our online operation.

We are looking for both an experienced E-commerce Trading Manager and an E-commerce Trading Supervisor to work together and be responsible for the smooth process of receiving online orders, managing the team to pick and dispatch uniform to our online customers.

As an E-commerce Trading Manager, your main focus would be to:
  • manage the web team workflow during business peaks (summer) and troughs (winter), ensuring the department is sufficiently staffed during all phases of the retail calendar
  • lead your team by example
  • create and maintain website imagery
  • work closely with our website developers regarding any upcoming changes, often having to test new or updated features before they are made live
  • deal with customer enquiries
  • process and package customer orders accurately
  • manage deliveries and returns As an E-commerce Trading Supervisor, you would:
  • support the E-commerce Trading Manager with managing the web team
  • supervise the team
  • to successfully balance the managerial side of the role with the day-to-day administrative tasks
