Shop Manager - Basinsgtoke (full time, permanent)

  • The role is full time and additional hours may be required during our busy back to school period.
Due to our continued success, we have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our busy Basingstoke shop as a Shop Manager with immediate start.

Skoolkit is a well-respected and growing family run business. We are a leading independent supplier of school wear, with stores in Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Fareham, Havant, Totton and Newbury, and a central distribution warehouse in Eastleigh. Our Basingstoke shop supplies school wear to local schools in the area with the busiest time naturally being the summer holidays - it is therefore a great time to jump into the Skoolkit world!

We are looking for an experienced manager with a proactive and hands-on approach to run our Basingstoke shop. The role will include leading, coaching and inspiring your team to achieve our customers' high expectations and ensuring excellent customer service. You will be responsible for handling enquiries from customers and Skoolkit's head office team about stock etc and will help to resolve any issues. We would also like you to build strong relationships with the schools that the Basingstoke shop supplies uniform for and to attend on-site manned displays at the schools when requested. You would be responsible for your shop's recruitment, rotas, performance management and the training and development of your team. You would also work closely with Skoolkit's Area Retail Manager to ensure your and your shop's top performance.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills to lead and motivate the team and will maintain high standards whilst continuously striving for improvements. We would expect you to follow a team focused approach and have experience in recruitment, setting rotas, performance management and developing a team. You will be passionate about achieving Skoolkit's vision and be part of its success. You will also need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
